Special Note on First Nation Claim Maps:
Some maps depicting land claims are not published officially as map files like the “Statement of Intent” maps involved with the BC Treaty Commission. Such maps are from independent land claims, and the published versions are designed for poster use (often heavily stylized), not for GIS applications such as an actual shapefile. Wolf Chart depictions of these maps are recreations using georeferencing techniques. It is virtually impossible to recreate a survey-quality map from these techniques. However, such recreations are the only way to analyze these land claims in GIS software, in lieu of original map files (such as shapefiles or geopackages).
Wolf Chart makes it clear that these recreations are not survey-quality and are for education purposes only.
