This map depicts the distribution of five critical strategic minerals. It would appear that at least half of BC is covered with copper and gold. It is important to understand that the MINFL mineral occurrence dataset is based on reported deposits, so prospectors would be actively looking for strategic minerals like copper and gold to begin with, hence the bias. Also, each MINFL point can contain record multiple minerals at each site, and this map displays the primary mineral in the deposit.
